There is important news regarding the property tax exemption recently passed by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court and the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, and Saginaw. The original deadline for filing paperwork to qualify for this exemption was April 30th. However, Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD) Chief Appraiser Joe Don Bobbitt has extended the deadline by an additional 60 days. This extension was granted because Fort Worth's meeting took place after the initial deadline, and they requested more time for taxpayers to take advantage of this newly created exemption.
This extension will set the new deadline for late submission to July 1, 2024, as June 30th falls on a Sunday.
